An Introduction to the United Kingdom (UK)

The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is more commonly known as the United Kingdom, UK or Britain. It is a European country located off the northwestern coast of the continental mainland. It comprises of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland and is a constitutional monarchy and parliamentary democracy.

According to the nominal gross domestic product (GDP), it has the fifth-largest economy with a high-income economy. The country's global presence and influence are further amplified through its trading relations and foreign investments, to name a few. The United Kingdom has a partially regulated market economy, and based on the market exchange rate, it is the fifth-largest economy in the world and the second-largest in Europe after Germany.

Real estate happens to be a major part of the United Kingdom's economy. It is regulated according to Scottish and English land law. The real estate market here is the largest or second-largest in Europe, depending on the method of measurement. Foreign investment plays a substantial role in the UK's real estate market, particularly in London.
